intercontinental ballistic missile training
As the award-winning Training Lead and Subject Matter Expert for the General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) Digital Engineering Environment (DEE) on the US Air Force Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program, we led an elite team of instructional systems developers and graphic designers in creating groundbreaking training solutions for one of the nation's most critical defense systems. Recognizing that traditional waterfall training development approaches couldn't keep pace with the rapid iteration cycles of digital engineering, we pioneered new Agile processes specifically adapted for learning and training development—methodologies that were so successful they were implemented across GD Mission Systems enterprise-wide.
These innovative processes fundamentally transformed how training teams collaborated with engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders, introducing iterative design sprints, continuous feedback loops, rapid prototyping, and incremental delivery that dramatically improved stakeholder engagement and satisfaction. By applying Agile principles to instructional design, we compressed development timelines, increased training relevance and accuracy, reduced costly late-stage revisions, and created learning experiences that evolved alongside the systems they supported rather than becoming outdated upon delivery. The processes we developed became organizational best practices, improving review cycles, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, and delivering measurable return on investment within learning and training domains across multiple defense programs. This experience solidified our expertise in leading high-performing teams, driving organizational change and process innovation, bridging technical and learning domains, and creating scalable methodologies that deliver both immediate project success and long-term enterprise value.

Military Aviation Excellence
Following our transformative work in correctional education, we brought our passion for learning design to the high-stakes world of military aviation as a Training Subject Matter Expert for the US Army Flight School XXI program. Certified in Army SAT (Systems Approach to Training) and Blended Learning methodologies, we managed complex rotary wing technology upgrade projects that modernized flight simulation training for the UH-60 A/M/L Black Hawk, CH-47F Chinook, and UH-72 Lakota helicopters—ensuring pilots could train safely and effectively on cutting-edge aircraft systems. We became a recognized voice in the military training community, speaking on innovative approaches to training the 21st Century Soldier and bridging the gap between traditional military instruction and emerging adult learning principles.

academic & flightline instructional design
One of our proudest achievements was leading the JCA C-130 Spartan Joint Cargo Aircraft program upgrade, where we led teams that reimagined both academic and flight line training for UH-60 loadmaster and pilot programs, integrating classroom instruction with hands-on application to accelerate proficiency and improve safety outcomes. As the leader of a team of 17 instructional systems designers supporting US Army Aviation training and doctrine programs, we honed our ability to manage complex projects, collaborate across military and civilian stakeholder groups, translate technical requirements into practical learning experiences, and deliver training solutions that directly impacted mission readiness and soldier safety. This experience cemented our expertise in systematic instructional design, technology-enhanced learning, performance-based training, and leading teams to deliver exceptional results under rigorous standards and demanding timelines.
